Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH has sold around two thirds of its premises (22,284 sqm) in Landsberg am Lech to Inventus, a project developer and property developer from Landsberg am Lech. Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH will continue to operate the headquarters of the Lech power plant group and the training workshop on the remaining areas.

The sales process lasted over a year. Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH and the city of Landsberg are happy to have a local investor with market knowledge and experience in the development of building land. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The city of Landsberg envisions a contemporary and sustainable residential area on the former depot, which the city council made clear with the installation decision of September 2020. For a short time, the city also expressed its own interest in this property, but finally refused it on March 17, 2021.

Thus, the Inventus starts with the necessary preparations in order to let the installation decision flow into a development plan in cooperation with the city of Landsberg. Managing director Peter Kerler is very much looking forward to this new development in his birthplace and hometown, especially to the close cooperation with the city of Landsberg am Lech.

In addition to covering the necessary housing needs, another goal is to set a clear signal in order to hit the "nerve of the times" with modern structures and energy management in a future-oriented manner. We wish everyone involved a harmonious and trend-setting change in the depot area, which has shaped Landsberg since 1940 and is and was well known to the residents as BAWAG to this day.
